The Property

The structure was built in 1923 and originally used as a meeting hall for a group known as the Improved Order of Red Men. The second floor of the property at 900 SE Hawthorne is used for the Event rental space known as The Chelsea Ballroom. The two Ballrooms (capacities 317 & 96) as well as a number of offices and ancillary spaces will continue to be used as a rental facility for weddings and other special events.
Zoning, Use and Occupancy
The entire building has received approval for use as "Retail Sales / Commercial Storefront". We have also confirmed the continued use of second floor ballrooms as legal Assembly spaces.
